When all data is collected it can be analysed. ProMISe uses the Pareto principle, or the 80/20 rule. 80% of all downtime is retraceable to 20% of the causes. Identify the biggest causes of your downtime en try to solve them with improvement teams.
When analyzing select failures based on time or by numbers. The Pareto is build like the failure tree. Start at a high level and the bar graph indicates where the most downtime is registered. By clicking that part you zoom in till you get to the root cause. Management can identify the biggest bottlenecks and determine which one needs to be improved first.
The trend analsis shows the development of the downtime. Useful to see if an improvement action worked or not. After an improvement action has been executed it is common to see an upward trend in downtime. Afterwards employees are paying more attention to that particular part, or because it takes time for them to get used to the new working method. If there comes no trend break and the downtime does not decrease, then you need to figure out why that is.
Based on the trend graph the prediction graph shows a prediction of downtime in the future if work continues in the current way. When the graph flattens it indicates that the improvement action has worked.
Use the item analysis for asset management en generate reports about specific parts or problems in the production process.
